Hello!

Welcome to my website! This is part of a creative project I'm currently working on for a high school english assignment.

The objective of this project was to explore horror in media, and I've chosen to explore the modern classic of a cartoon, Cartoon Network's Over the Garden Wall

What? A cartoon for kids? Why would you want to analyze that?

Good question, omnipresent voice I just made up for convenience.

It's because the show itself may be a kids cartoon on the surface, but once analyzed it actually has far deeper and darker meanings than what can originally be inferred.

The show is about two boys who are lost in a forest called The Unknown trying to find their way home. The entire show parallels Dante's Inferno, a book about a man who descends through the layers of hell with two companions. When I watched this show for the first time, I was immediately captured by the amazing artwork, captivating story, and the deeper meaning under the surface, which is exactly why I chose to explore it in depth with this project.

I will focus on researching the actually forest itself and the meaning behind it, as well as the effect it has on the audience and the characters themselves.

Thanks for reading, and go check out Over The Garden Wall
